Can I convert my Excel template without my PDF report?

Yes, and we actually recommend that you do this as soon as you have your financial figures ready, and your PDF/Epub is still in production.

If you upload only the Excel file with your financial statements to the ParsePort Platform, you will still create an iXBRL file but without the graphical part that your PDF/Epub usually grants.

You can use this method to do a technical check* of the mapping. Also, this is a great way to check if your figures and calculations are generating any warnings, errors, or inconsistencies. You can find a detailed description of how to perform a technical check here.

Please be aware that while this file would contain the technical part of your ESEF report,it  is missing the graphical part of iXBRL therefore this file is not complete and can not be submitted to your local authorities.

* Technical Check - We call single Excel conversion a Technical check, since it will only check technical parts of financial statements, but you won’t get any warnings or errors regarding tagged text information in your PDF/Epub, as the system does not have the graphical part to check at this stage.
