According to guidance 2.5.1 in the ESEF Reporting Manual, images that are not embedded within the xHTML document and do not have their MIME type specified, must match their file extensions. If these requirements aren't met, you will get the error message Violation: “imageDoesNotMatchItsFileExtension”.
