How to Generate a Viewer File/xHTML

The ZIP package contains information that is easily readable only by using a dedicated software like our Parseport Platform.

While this is not an issue for most auditors and companies, who often have access to the software needed  for  iXBRL reports, it can be for the average reader.

What is the Viewer file?

The Viewer file is an xHTML file with the Viewer function embedded. The advantage of this file is that only a standard web browser is needed to open it. The embedded viewer gives users the ability to see every tagged element in the report and access the underlying XBRL data, without the need of specialized software.

The Viewer file is for your use and is not to be submitted to the local authority. However, we would recommend you upload it alongside your ESEF file, on your website. In that way users without access to technical readers will be able to download it, making your iXBRL report accessible for everyone.

How to generate a Viewer file?

1.Start by navigating to ParsePort Platform login.

2. After logging in, you need to start by using: Import button to create your ESEF file in the system by uploading both the Excel and PDF:

3. After the conversion is complete, click on the Viewer tab. Then, click on the download report button and select Generate. This will prompt a download of the xHTML/Viewer file.

4. Once done, you should have a browser file in your saved folder, which upon double clicking on it should open your report in your default browser.

Use the highlight XBRL Elements checkbox in the top right corner to highlight all technical data, and browse your report. You will see all the Taxonomy elements present and tagged on your report, as seen in a specialized tool.

Additionally, you can use Parseport Platform Manual where export options are explained in detail.
