The ParsePort XBRL Inspector uses the reporting package hash generator developed by the Royal Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants to calculate hash totals for reporting packages. As long as the reporting package does not change, the hash total doesn't change either. You can read more about the hash generator and find the proof of concept here.
